Where can you find Surinam
You will find Suriname on the northeast coast of South America, with Guyana to the west, French Guiana to the east, and Brazil to the south. The principal rivers are the Corantijn on the Guyana border, the Marowijne in the east, and the Suriname river, on which the capital city of Paramaribo is situated. The official population is 450.000 people most of them live in the coastal areas and Paramaribo the capital of Surinam. Language
The official language of Surinam is Dutch beside Dutch most of the Surinamese people also speak English. Almost everyone speaks Sranang Tongo(negro English). Various ethnics groups have their own languages or dialect.

Suriname is a multicultural society, the original inhabitants of Surinam are Indians. In the past few centuries Jews, Bakara’s, Creoles, East Indians, Javanese and Chinese also came to Surinam. Despite this great diversity in races the people of Surinam are living alongside each other and respect and appreciate each other values.
City
The main capital of Surinam is Paramaribo, also home for the Surinamese government. Beside Paramaribo there are no other big cities the second city in Surinam is Nickerie, rice arsenal of Surinam.

Electricity in Suriname has two voltages 110 volts 60 Hz and 220 60 Hz, in the in lands of Surinam there is almost no electricity, mostly electricity is generated by aggregates.
