Cab

When you arrive in Surinam at the Johan Adolf Pengel airport(Zanderij) there are several cabs waiting fore you. Most of the cabs don’t have a cab sign on the roof of the car. These cabs are private drivers ho drives fore a cab central. If you are asked to step in to a cab that is not save politely say no and take a other cab ore simply book your cab at WIMA airport service.

Before you take a cab ask what price you will be charged avoid surprises. Don’t get a cab on the street always use a cab that is a member of a cab central.

Buses

To get on a bus in Surinam is a experience you will not forget, from 2003 bus drivers are not aloud to play music in there buses any more, something Surinamese buses where famous fore. Renting a car

During your stay in Surinam you can rent a car you will need a international and a iternational driving licences. Prices fore renting a car are something between € 20 till € 75 per day. In Surinam you have to drive at left side of the road if you have never done this take your time and get use to it. In the suburban area the maximum driving speed is 50 km a hour outside the suburban area the maximum speed is 80 km per hour. Don’t be surprised almost no one obeys these rules and will go must faster. Surinamese drivers also like to as they call it boren this mean getting in front of you, fore instant when they come from  a side lane.
