When you live in Surinam you must have a health insurance, we advise you if your financial resources permit you to get a health insurance-based on 1st class. If you are 1st class insured you will get better treatment. You cannot compare healthcare in Suriname with other western countries.

Letter of quarantee

When you visit a specialist or a doctor at the hospital you need a letter of guarantee to obtain this letter you have to go to your own doctor. Most of the time you will get a letter of guarantee for two visits when you go to the hospital and visit a doctor, take a picture of your lungs and have your blood examined, then you need three letters of guarantee.
